**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

The name Campbell comes from the Gaelic “Cam Beul” meaning ‘curved mouth’, a nickname given to Dugald on Lochawe, who supposedly used to speak out of one side of his mouth.  The Earl of Campbell fought alongside James IV at the Battle of Flodden, fought as Convenanters during the Civil War and led a number of bloody attacks against the Jacobites, even help defeat them at the Battle of Culloden in 1746.  During the 18th Century, the Campbells formed half of the companies of the Black Watch (along with companies, one each, from Clans Fraser, Munro and Grant) with their warrior natures to guard and protect the Highlands, and authorized to wear their kilt and bear arms.  The Campbell tartan Sport Kilt is the tartan associated with the Ancient Black Watch and heralds its proud past.

    Having given up my pipe band full kilt, I am grateful to have both the hiking and sport kilts with much greater versatility and comfort. Hiking the Cornish Coast kilted was better than in shorts, and with the sport kilt, I can still get the more traditional look I want with belt or sporran, plus it’s lighter and less expensive.

    Great Kilt, Great Customer Service!!
    I was looking for a kilt for my fiance to wear for our engagement photo shoot. Wanted something authentic yet affordable. I’m so glad I found SprtKilt’s website!! After ordering the kilt in his heritage name/color, we found out he had measured himself wrong and it didnt fit!! With ten days til our photoshoot, I called and explained the situation.     Fit well, is adjustable, comfortable, colorful and definitely raised eyebrows! I’ll get the rest of the regalia so I can use it as formal wear, as it is much more comfortable than a tux or coat and tie.
