Waist Size *

Using a measuring tape, wrap it around your waist where you'd like the top of your kilt to sit. Don't hold in your stomach!. Usually this measurement is larger than the waist-size of your pants. You might consider giving yourself an extra inch, or so, for comfort. That will be the ideal waist measurement to order.

Remember, it will be easier for YOU to adjust one that's a little too large, but one that's too small might be a job for Slim Fast.

Please Note: We cannot accept returns or exchanges on any custom made garment. Measure carefully!

Length *

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note: Boulder and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard length of 22.5 inches will fit most people, fine.

Please Note: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Measure carefully, please!

Hip Size *

Measure the largest part of your rear.
Take this measurement a little loosely. You should be able to slide a finger between the tape measure and your body when you measure.
That’s what is needed for the hip measurement.

This measurement is usually larger than the waist measurement.

Hidden Side Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won't even know they're there unless you're looking for them, or you've got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Also, it is best to hand wash (or dry clean) your kilt with leather straps.

Important: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn-down pleats, custom length, fringe, or buckles. Please be precise with measurements!

    my wife told me to get this package for a black tie night on a cruise. I received so many compliments all night. A woman from Scotland was also on the cruise and told me I look fantastic and very authentic. I added a belt, buckle, and Sgian Dubh to complete the look when I ordered the package. As a side note, a tux shirt without the front pleats/ruffles looks best with the kilt. The kilt it self is great and i ware it regularly, I added the hidden pockets and love them!

    Great Look, Amazing Service
    I needed this for a black tie event, and the Sport Kilt crew were able to accommodate a quick turnaround and even carried the sizes for a bigger guy. If I had to name a complaint, it would be that the ghillie brogues are a bit narrow for me (they are definitely standard width and I need a EE or EEE). If you are a bit bigger, I would recommend the belt hangars for the sporran, as the chain can be a little less flattering.

    Incredibly happy.
    I ordered the kilt package with the instructions that I needed it for a wedding, this wedding was just before the deadline for “Average time” So I really didn’t expect the entire package to arrive on time, it was just really wishful thinking. Fast foreword a bit and a good week before the wedding my package arrived at my doorstep and in the box I found the instructions “Ensure shipped before date.” inside the box. The sport kilt team understood my needs and more than met them, their product is incredibly sound, exactly as I ordered and they worked hard to ensure I got it when I need it, I will be buying all my future kilts and recommending my friends and family do the same from sport kilt.

    I needed a formal kilt and this fit the bill perfectly. Using the directions on measurements, then some guidance from Geovanni on the sizing of the Prince Charlie jacket (they run small so order a size up FYI), I received my entire kit within the time limit I needed it by (stated when I ordered). Communication was excellent and the value of this setup could not be better.

    Great quality, perfect fit
    I ordered the formal kilt with all the trimmings. Got the extra pleats, hose, flashes, fly plaid and all. Used the measuring guidelines and it all fit perfectly. I’ve only worn it once but the outfit garnered compliments from men and women alike. I would purchase again. Friendly tip, there are online videos to teach tying a bow tie. Practice a day or two before rather than 10 minutes before you go out.

    When I started to shop around for kilts, I came across SportKilt.com.  I found this package and initially had sticker shock.  When I added up everything I was going to order, I found that the formal package was not only had what I wanted, but it was less expensive bundled together. 

    -Side note, the kilt package arrived on St. Patrick’s Day.  I had ordered late in the season, and was not going to hold my breath, but I was blown away when I got home from work to see that the packages were waiting for me.  Was very much appreciated.

    I don’t have a single complaint about the kilt.  It was made well, and am happy that I ordered the extra features the kilt.  The jacket seems a little short, as far as reaching the waistline, but that could be that I am taller/longer than normal.

    One last thing to note, the package does not come with a belt.  I still need to order a belt, buckle and sgian dubh.
