Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Also, it is best to hand wash (or dry clean) your kilt with leather straps.

Important: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn-down pleats, custom length, fringe, or buckles. Please be precise with measurements!

Belt Loops

Although you don’t need a belt to hold up your kilt, we’ll be glad to add ’em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Description

Murphy tartan Women’s Sport Kilt

These are custom made, please give us 3-5 days to make ’em. If you need it rushed, let us know and we’ll do our best.

A wrap-around style women’s kilt with a secure Velcro closure and elastic in the waistband for comfort and fit. Standard length is 18″ long.

You may also add custom options (see below) like sewn-down pleats (highly recommended), belt loops, buckle/strap closure for a custom one-of-a-kind look.

Size note: small fits 22-26″ waists, medium is for 27-33″ large is for 34-38″ waists and XL fits 39-46″ waist sizes.

    I bought the sport kilt with the extras; buckles and fringe. Should have gotten extra length as I am 5’8” and that is considered giant haha because the kilt is more a mini kilt at 18” (really came in at 17”) length. Also DO DO DO order a size up especially if you get buckles. You can’t really adjust the size with buckles in it. Although I measured and it should fit fine as I was on the low end side of a Large it is very very snug and I will have to diet to get into it comfortably or I cut the super crazy amount of elastic in the waist. And it is not returnable due to the buckles. Raw fruit and vege for me for two weeks to St Pats. My second order from them, first was my husband’s and yeah they all run small.

    Great Little Kilt
    I love my kilt so much, that I bought another one. Really wish I was Scottish…Anyway, I actually do a lot of work in my kilt, and I purchased it with the additional length, pockets, and pleats sewed down. I’ve taken it on several trips and just got back from a Christmas party. Every day that I wear it, someone tells me how much they it. As it relates to fit for me and how I like to wear things, I found the waist measurements to be a bit small, and I would recommend a size up. I have a 27 inch waist, 140 lbs, 5-8″ and got the medium; which was perfect. Very happy with my kilts!
