**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Please note: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please measure carefully!

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

Description

Hash House Harriers Hunting Kilt

The Hash Kilts were conceived by members of the Society of Kilted Hashers, as trail-worthy, washable kilts for the world hash. The notion was to design a tartan, using G’s regimental tartan as a pattern, with the hash colors of green for shiggy, brown for mud and dirt, blue for water crossed, red for blood shed, white for trail, and amber representing our beverage of choice.

A number of tartan designs were evaluated and two selected and certified by the STA as Hash House Harriers Trail, for the golden sett, and Hash House Harriers Hunting for the darker, hunting tartan.

The Hash Kilt is box pleated to the stripe, as was G’s kilt, a rarely-used traditional method which makes for a more distinctive trail kilt. Hashers everywhere can enjoy the pleasure and comfort of a Hash Kilt, in the tartan of their choice, with the options of the original Sport Kilt, and models for men and women.

    Brilliant! No kidding. This is my second Sport Kilt and the first is fairly subdued in color, so this one is brilliant by comparison. Compared to the hiking kilt this one is more comfortable, thicker more luxurious fabric, and according to my wife “looks more like a kilt”. It is early days yet, but I think I prefer the box pleats to the knife pleats. As for the purchase, good service to Canada, prompt shipping and the product is first rate. Well done, Sport Kilt Team.

    Great Customer Service!
    First kilt I’ve ordered (H3 Hunting) and I love the fit, colours and wearability! I live in Toronto, so the shipping was a bit pricey, and I had an issue with the fit at first being a borderline size. I should have picked up the phone for a quick conversation before ordering probably. Anyways, James on the service line was fantastic resolving the issue and I’m extremely happy with the kilt I have now! On on!

    Love My HHH Kilt
    I love this kilt, I will be getting another and another and another…well you get the idea. My only issue is I should have added a maybe a 1/2 inch as I tend to rip out the pleats. Of course, this has made me find a great alteration store.

    Sport Kilt
    I run with the Flying Irish running club. It is great to run in. I did get the pockets and recommend getting them. It is also comfortable after the run while downing liquid refreshment. Women love a man in a kilt.

    Lovin’ my kilts
    Fun to wear, very good quality. The fabric is heavy enough to stay down even when running on trail; it doesn’t fly up Marilyn Monroe style. Thread colors in both the Hunting & Trail kilts are the same (or extremely similar). The darkest thread is about Guiness brown, not black as it may seem in the photos here. I own both HHH tartans & to me the Hunting seems more formal because of its darker colors.

    The optional pockets are well worth it, in my opinion. They’re HUGE & can hold lots of stuff, holes for the pockets are barely noticeable. Warning: don’t have something heavy like a digital camera in the big side pockets while running, ‘cause the camera will be swinging low, back & forth, can hit ya hard down there. The fabric does pill a bit over time, making it a bit fuzzy; very minor issue though. Fast & excellent service. Definitely ordering another kilt. On on!

    Great Kilt!
    I love my kilt! I ordered the men’s large since I typically wear a 35/36 inch waist… my kilt however is a bit big. I had to punch additional holes in the buckle straps to get it to fit better. Next kilt I order I will ensure that I get belt buckles for a better fit.

    A kilt heads down under
    I ordered 2 kilts (one for a friend) in the Hash House Harriers Hunting tartan. What surprised me was the amount of Sport Kilt’s “generous” cut – I could have done with a L instead of the XL I ordered. After a few minutes on the sewing machine my wife had moved the leather straps and it now fits perfectly. The quality of the manufacture is excellent with attention to detail evident.

    Like Sampsons long hair…
    …my kilt gives me a strange kind of power. I got it on Saturday morning, wore it downtown in Songtan, South Korea, and within 10 minutes two women lifted it up to answer the age old question. “What’s underneath?”
    Satisfied? Yes, very.
    I’ve yet to wear it on trail but I’m sure it’ll do just fine.

    My first Kilt
    I purchased a Sports Kilt prior to running the, “2009 Reach the Beach Relay” http://www.rtbrelay.com. This was my first time I ever ran in a kilt and I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable it was. My second leg was in the middle of the night and the kilt kept my knees warm even with temps in the low 40’s. There was a mixed bag of reactions from other runners the women were positive about it, most men kept referring to it as a skirt so much so I stopped correcting them. I’ll keep wearing it and spread the word of these wonderful garments.

    Great Buy
    I received this kilt before heading out of town, assured it would arrive on time. It did. (Thanks Seamus). I’d packed my Utilikilt Workman but never wore it. The comfort, fit and swing of this lighter weight kilt made me reach for it every morning. Many people ask ‘why’ I wear a kilt because it’s so unfamiliar to their world, but a simple “because I can” says it all. This won’t be my last Sport Kilt.

    My first H3-Hunting Sport Kilt
    A great choice for the hash trail or on-after. The sizing is true but those who are on the line will have to decide to go up a size. I ordered a large as a 33″ waist and had the elastic taken in a bit to tailor the fit. Otherwise, I love the kilt!
