I own my own pair of Ghillie Brogues and have always found them annoyingly heavy and uncomfortable. I bought these for my husband and though have obviously not worn them myself, they seem so much more comfortable than mine. I was concerned that they would look cheap but they really capture the look nearly as well as my more traditional ones. Fantastic job!
Never buy the traditional brogues again. Wore these all day for St Pat's with plenty of walking around and no problems. Clean easily and genuinely look like the real deal.
Absolutely fabulous!! I got these for my husband, who has a peripheral neuropathy disease. Regular ghillies were just too heavy. As he wears crocs most of the time, these were perfect for him - he was thilled to wear them, with his kilt, at our son's wedding last weekend.
Pros: Weigh next to nothing. Look sharp--it takes a close look to notice that these are not leather brogues. Very comfortable to walk in; not at all like typical brogues. Great price. Waterproof and extremely easy to clean. Cons: Sized very small. Some reviewers say to order two sizes up; I'd guess that's about right. Matte finish might not appeal to some who prefer patent leather. Lace loops are fragile. And worst of all: They are nearly impossible to find now, and in limited sizes. If you find some in your size (order a size or two bigger than normal), get two pair! Why, oh why, did this company go out of business just after I discovered them?
