**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

Description

As a family, the Royal Stewarts held the throne of Scotland, and later that of England, in direct line until the death of Queen Anne in 1714. In fact, the current Royal family still has Stewart blood links.

The Stewart tartan is worn by the regimental pipers of the Scots Guards and was referred to by King George V as my personal tartan.

Known as the Royal Tartan, it is still traditionally the official tartan of the Royal House of Scotland.

Prince Charles wore his kilt in this pattern when addressing the Scots Guards.

    I ordered the kilt for my son. He measured twice, using his Stanley tape measure! His measurements were off…Big Time. However, thanks to my wife, she was able to make some changes with the waistline and it looks perfect. He now has a pocket in front of his junk, but its fine. No complaints at all. His mistake and it is fine now.

    I bought the basic for a starter kilt lover. Ordered wrong size and had absolutely no trouble in exchanging it. You might consider going with a smaller size then the sizing chart suggest if you are on the first inch or two. 39″ fits a large better.
