Women’s Hiking Kilt – Black Stewart

Women’s Hiking Kilt – Black Stewart

Waist Size *

Using a measuring tape, wrap it around your waist where you'd like the top of your kilt to sit. Don't hold in your stomach!. Usually this measurement is larger than the waist-size of your pants. You might consider giving yourself an extra inch, or so, for comfort. That will be the ideal waist measurement to order.

Please Note: We cannot accept returns or exchanges on any custom made garment. Measure carefully!

Buckle Closure ($20)

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well.

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Leather Buckle Straps (above) Nylon Buckle Straps (below)

Pockets ($24)

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Belt Loops ($14)

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

TIP: Belt Loop size should be at least 1/4" larger than the belt width in order to have room for the belt hardware, e.g., the keeper.

Please note: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please measure carefully!

I am in love with my hiking kilt! If you are at all considering purchasing one, do it! I do highly recommend adding the pockets. The added pockets are a game changer – they are plenty big – much larger than many other women’s pockets in other clothing (if you are lucky enough to find women’s fitness clothing with pockets at all). In my opinion, the buckles are not needed. There is plenty of velcro for a secure closure – and I think they would be uncomfortable with a pack that has a hip belt. I would love to see more tartan patterns in the future for the hiking kilt 🙂

    Lightweight Comfortable Hiking Kilt
This is my first SportKilt Hiking Kilt. It’s very comfortable, lightweight and fun to wear.

    Awesome, fast ppurchase
Not only was the kilt finished (added pockets!) fast & shipped faster then I expected, but it is better than I expected too for the cost.
I figured I would be wearing it out, so I ordered a 2nd one in a different color 2 weeks later. Thank you Sport Kilt!

    Gotta Love My Kilt!
I just racewalked my second and most successful marathon in Tampa on Feb. 28th in my new SportKilt. My dad, a Glasgow native, was my inspiration to do long distance training, and my SportKilt is my homage to his memory. I carried a photo of my dad finishing the 1983 Orange Bowl Marathon (at his age 61 in 4:47) in the little pocket inside my kilt. Dad was a runner, and while I don’t run, I walk pretty fast (finished about 13:45 min mi av). I absolutely HATE it when my shorts ride up, and hallelujah! there was not a problem in my kilt. I had many favorable comments and no bad ones (that I could hear, anyway!). Lots of folks commented that they liked my “skirt” and I replied, “It’s a kilt, actually…does it make my butt look FAST?” I was VERY comfy in my wonderfully lightweight kilt despite a cool start, and was especially appreciative after the sun came up and it got warm. The wind off Tampa Bay did not blow my pleats up, either. It washes up like a dream….I LOVE my kilt and highly recommend it, especially for any of you gals out there that have reached a “certain age” and no longer wear size 6! Walk fast!
