It’s fun to see kids put on a kilt for the first time, and most all of them instinctively take to running around and enjoying the freedom that you get when wearing a kilt.
Our Youth Kilt Package includes the essentials for getting started wearing a kilt. The sporran is the #1 accessory, and is a convenient place to hide your chalk, or gummy bears. It’s like a primitive fanny pack, but smaller, for kids.

Sizing and Ordering Tips
Babies and Toddlers under 2 will fit our Baby Kilt. Toddlers 2-4 years old fit in the Toddler Kilt. Kids 4-6 fit in our Youth size typically, and 7-10 year olds fit best in our Young Lad/Lass. Once they’ve outgrown the Young Lad/Lass, they’re ready for the adult small.
Baby and Toddler kilts will come with our “Child Size” sporran, and Youth and Young Lad/Lass kilts will come with our “Youth Size” sporran.
Delivery: Please allow at least 3-5 business days for us to build – just in case we don’t have in stock! If you need this by a certain date, give us a call, or let us know in the “order notes” when checking out. We always do our best to meet your deadline if you let us know.
Care Instructions
You can machine wash your kilt with similar colors on cold; tumble dry on low or hang to dry. For the sharpest pleats, press with an iron on 75% heat setting.
Please Note: If your kilt has leather buckle straps, we recommend dry cleaning as the leather will dry out with machine washing/drying.

What are sewn-down pleats? Do I need belt loops? Great questions! Find out below.

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.
The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

You can add two 1″ wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap. You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well.
While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.
Please Note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other. We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length.

Yes! We can add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets. A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!
Please Note: It will take us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships. We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length.
Although you don’t need a belt to hold up your kilt, we’ll be glad to add ’em so you can wear your favorite belt.
Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran “chain-belt” through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.
