Ordered the hiking kilt in the Buchanan Ancient Tartan. Very attractive colors. Thought microfiber would be thinner and lighter than the regular Sport Kilts but because of the layers of material, it actually feels a little heavier. The fringe is not offered on the Hiking Kilt which is a shame. Another surprise is that the underside of the kilt is white. I tried using a pin on the kilt and it leaves visible holes because of the white on the other side. All the kilts are comfortable in hot weather and the hiking kilt is no exception. But because of the lack of a fringe and the white underside, I will stick to the regular kilts in the future.

Love the Hiking Kilts everyone gets 5 stars except for the Buchanan due to it coming 2” smaller in the waist than all the others I bought. I have 5 kilts now one 34” which is too big all the rest fit great at 32” EXCEPT the new Buchanan kilt. When aligned with my other 32” kilts it is 2.5” smaller. I think because they didn’t account for the smaller, more numerous pleats. If you like this kilt buy a size up! My husband can’t wear his 34” either so I’m going to send his back to be hemmed for me. Hopefully I can return mine.
