Experienced hikers requested a kilt that was lightweight, packed down small, dried quickly, and was comfortable on the skin.  At the same time it needed to be durable enough to last the entire length of the 2000 mile Appalachian Trail, with all the obstacles it can throw at you.

What evolved was the Hiking Kilt that is light enough to pack down small and give proper ventilation, quick drying, yet heavy enough not to blow up in a stiff breeze, and resist abrasion from the elements, dry quickly and resist water-logging.

The Women’s Hiking Kilt turned out to also be perfect for ultra-marathoners, as well as river raft guides, fly-fishermen, paddleboarders, surfers and watermen due to the breathability and comfort.
