Feel free to give us your hip measurement (usually right around your rear-end) in the "order notes" and we can take that into consideration when building your kilt. 

Mini Kilt Length *

Our standard mini-kilts are 14″ long, but you can give it a shorter hem length if you want.  Note that we can always make a kilt shorter, but once it’s been cut, we can’t make it longer, so it does become non-returnable with a custom length.  

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Also, it is best to hand wash (or dry clean) your kilt with leather straps.

Important: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn-down pleats, custom length, fringe, or buckles. Please be precise with measurements!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won't even know they're there unless you're looking for them, or you've got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Description

California tartan Mini Kilt!

A short and sexy Sport Kilt in the official California tartan. The tartan’s blue background reflects the sky, the Pacific Ocean, and the state’s many rivers and mountains. The green reflects the forests of the Sierras, and the many fields, forests, and parks. The red, gold, and blue signify the arts, sciences, and industry of the people of the State of California. There is also a hint of the Muir family tartan in its origin, in celebration of his many contributions to California.

These are custom made, so please allow 3-4 days for us to make your mini-kilt.

Customizations, i.e., belt buckles, sewn down pleats, etc., may add a couple of days to your order’s delivery time.

    Compliments Galore
    This is my third Sport Kilt. I wear them all around town on walks to coffee shops, stores, the beach and up to two miles from home. I had two compliments the first day I wore this new one–one from a guy and one from a woman. I get more compliments, questions and discussions from women, but so far, no disparaging comments at all from anyone. So go for the short ones, they’re even more comfortable and get plenty of compliments!

    sizing off
    Product was shipped in a timely manner. Like the additional size of the internal pocket. Have to incur a $10 restock fee for wrong size. Based on sites sizing chart a small should have fit mid range however it barely closed halfway over the first set of velcro.

    I love this tartan, it’s my favorite! Maybe it’s because I’m a native Californian, but these colors are awesome!
