Description
“The Works Kilt” is our world-famous Sport Kilt with three custom options already included: Sewn Down Pleats, Fringed front panel edge, and leather buckle strap closures.
The material is the same great Sport Kilt poly-blend (no itch!) fabric with superb “swing” and “drape”. It’s Machine washable, non-wool and holds a crisp pleat well.
Each also features our original velcro closure, and elastic in the waistband for comfort and fit, with just a bit of give. Each includes a inside stash pocket 5×6″ behind the front panel.
Please allow about 3-5 days to add custom features like sewn down pleats, leather buckle straps, etc. to your Works model kilt. Longer than standard length kilts are made from scratch, and can take up to 2-3 weeks to complete.
Please note: Since this is a custom made garment, generally we cannot accept returns or exchanges, unless we make a mistake. However, we want everybody to be happy with their kilt, so let us know if you have sizing issues once you receive your kilt. Please measure carefully. If you need a longer length kilt, or a larger model than what we offer online, feel free to call in your order to 1-800-451-KILT.

Good & Bad
The Kilt is beautiful and seems well made but it came missing a feature it was suppose to have (3” belt loops.) I called and customer service said I didn’t ask for them but on the website it said they are standard. As a result, I don’t wear it which is disappointing because it was expensive and otherwise very nice.

The Works Kilt
The Works Kilt is excellent and top quality. I have an original sport which doesn’t have pockets which is the only thing I don’t like. The pockets on the kilt are deep and easy to access. The pockets are blended well into the kilt and hard to notice them. The material of the kilt is very comfortable and make me not want to wear pants at all. A kilt is my shorts in the summer and also the end of winter. I ordered my new kilt and got within the two weeks.

Kilt bought
I bought a McDonald kilt from your company. You informed each step of process. The item was made and shipped way ahead of when I expected. The length of the large works was perfect on the 6’1 son. Thank you for excellent customer service. The item arrived yesterday.

Very nice and comfortable
I received my Works Kilt in MacDonald tartan about two days late, but there was a major ice storm going on, and that’s on the weather and UPS, not SportKilts.
All in all, it’s a very nice kilt. It drapes, swings, and fits comfortably. The waist was actually a tad larger than I had expected, though I have lost a few pounds. Also, the elastic is a tad “looser” than I generally prefer, but I’m ex-military and I like a good snug fit.
Overall, this is a wonderful kilt for the money. It looks better than a UtiliKilt, and I prefer the full wrap-around of the under apron…UtiliKilts leave me feeling like my bits-n-pieces are on display.
Just be careful if you’re in the kitchen, my fabric snagged on the corner of the stove and one thread has pulled out a little. A friend of mine told me this is a problem with a traditional kilt as well, so be aware that a kilt is NOT a pair of jeans.
I only have one minor issue with the kilt, and that’s with the “passport pocket” in front. I would prefer it be sewn to the back of the under-apron, because you have to jam your hand into a space in the velcro in order to get your hand into it where it is sewn into the back of the over-apron. Otherwise, I’d keep my wallet there.

McDonald Sportkilt purchased for frineds wedding
First, all us guys in the wedding party bought our kilts from this site. They were spectacular and I for one will wear mine on a semi-regular basis as I own two other kilts. (From another Company but I didn’t know about yours before now.)
Second, I hope to purchase another kilt in the near future (currently having to look for employment, darn economy) to honor my step-dad’s family, Campbell.
Third, the happy couple will hopefully send you some pics from the wedding in the near future of the wedding and the five gentlemen that wore your kilts for the ceremony.

The Perfect Casual Kilt
When a heavy wool kilt is too much (e.g., for casual wear during Texas summer) the Sport Kilt is perfect. I wear mine every chance I get and have even worn it riding a motorcycle. (Tuck carefully!) It is comfortable, drapes well, and looks great. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Save the heavy Scottish wool kilt for formal occasions and get a Sport Kilt. BTW, it looks great with a Ghillie shirt and combat boots.
