THE STORIES THAT INSPIRED THE TARTANS
Two of our veteran patterns are our own original creations, inspired by tales of bravery and designed to honor kilt-lovers from Scotland and Ireland. While these proud heritages may have their differences, they can all agree on one thing: at least they’re not English.
As the great William Wallace once said, “they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our kilts!” Inspired by its namesake film, this plaid is a nod to the brave Scots who used their garments as blankets, tents, or however they saw fit.

By the time Official Irish County Tartans were designed in 1997, we had already launched three original kilts of our own for our Irish fans. The Irisher has come to represent a source of pride for all Emerald Islanders, not owing itself to any particular region.
