**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

    I bought my SK 13 years age and it still looks great. I am getting ready to buy my next kilt only bacause my legs have gotten so big at the gym. My new Kilt will come from SK. The kilt looks great with my Catskill boots. When I have had to call the people have been so nice and helpful.

    Great Kilt
    This is my seventh Sport Kilt and I love them all. I wear a kilt everyday. I don’t wear anything else. These kilts are very comfortable for me as I live in Hawaii where it gets pretty hot but in my kilt I stay nice and cool all day long. I plan to visit Sport Kilt in January and pick up a few more while I’m there. The quality of the kilts are awesome, the fit is perfect and the service is impeccable.

    I have 5 plus accessories
    Recently I decided to get comfortable in a Kilt to prepare for an upcoming wedding. I bought a sport kilt and a comfy kilt and immediately fell in love with the feel of wearing a kilt. I bought 3 more and other goodies immediately, and now I wear them all the time.

    Only had one minor snag in ordering, received a size too small, but when I let Seumas and crew know about it, they had me the right size in less than a week from receipt of the initial.

    I look forward to picking up more kilts and accessories in the future. My sporran, sgian dubh, hose, flashes, sash, are all fantastic.

    Great Quality & good experience
    Ordering was easy, but be warned, I ordered the kilt for my brothers birthday, took his waist measurment and when the kilt came it was a bit snug. Good excuse for him to loose a few, but I recommend ordering a larger size so that the apron layes correctly in front. Sewen down pleats are the only way to go! All in all: great quailty, good experience.

    I was very pleased with this kilt which I ordered in my grandfather’s clan tartan. The fit was perfect without adding the adjustment velcro, and the service was great as usual.

    Love this product
    I’m actually a McCallum, amd would have preferred a McCallum kilt, but my grandmother was a Gordon, so I can wear this one legitimatly. I have a big, heavy, wool McCallum Kilt that I wear most of the time, but this one is so much easier to wear and more comfortable that that will likely change. My only complaint is that they don’t come in more tartans!
