Just received this kilt today, my second now owned. While as I expected, the standard 22 inch length is too long for my liking and I’ll be taking it to a tailor this weekend to see about getting it fixed, the kilt is absolutely perfect. Its comfortable, lightweight, the XXL max of 54 fits perfectly and makes me feel like I’ve actually lost some weight from the 55.5 waist I got from my first kilt (from another good US located/produced company) and the leather straps make it look amazing. It looks very nice with a black kilt belt, although I’ll probably be getting a brown one to go with the green as well as a brown sporran.
My only, and I wouldn’t even say it is a gripe, “huh” moment was when I looked at the kilt, the pattern that I thought was a yellowish color was actually a lime-green color. Was kind of expecting the yellow, but have no issues with the green. Looking forward to wearing this out on my fall hikes.

I feel the sport kilts are very well made and the customer service is top notch. I think however that the internal pocket is kind of useless. You have to partially unwrap to put anything in it.

First Kilt
This was my first kilt that I was buying for myself. I was worried about the fit, because I’m a shorter guy at 5’6. Had to get a custom length at 20 inches, but it fit perfectly. Pockets are also very conveniently placed and do not affect comfort at all. I was initially going to get a belt loop or something, because I was worried it was going to slip off; you really don’t need it as it stays on very firmly. I wear it every day and am considering buying another. Would definitely recommend this to legitimately anyone I know.

Great guys making great kilts
Final impression: awesome kilt from guys that give a damn. I was gifted my kilt at Christmas but was almost between sizes (35 width at navel), so I was distraught when it didn’t fit at first. A phone call later and then some free alterations and free return shipping later I’m the proud owner of a custom fit kilt which makes me a man and a half on the curling sheet.

I recently ordered the “all ireland” kilt. I wear kilts most everyday and have other heavier denim kilts. The sport kilt is breezy and not nearly as hot as my heavier kilts. Service was great and fast. The addition of pockets is crucial for me. They truly are cavernous! The addition of leather straps does interfere slightly with getting into the right side pocket, but for me it’s a safety feature. It guarantees that nothing will be coming out of those bad boys. Looks great. Keeps a pleat like a m.f.’er. I will be ordering a few more gueranteed.

Nice medium weight and drapped nice. Got the kilt for St. Patty’s Day and received nice compliments on it. Sevaral people at the pub I go to have had sport kilts and recommended them to me. I have to say I agree… (they did warn me that the kilt does not wear well over time, but I have yet to see that myself.)
One thing to note: belt loops were a must to me, but I’d skip the extra pockets in the future. (there is an ’emergency’ small pocket built in to the drape)

Ran the Shamrock 8K in mine!
The only reason I gave a “4” is because I ran an 8K in the kilt and the kilt fabric is a little heavier than you need for running. The weight of the fabric is probably perfect for rugby, gaelic football, etc. The kilt is comfortable and of good construction. It seems to me that the kilt is made to be worn higher toward the belly button like a dress pant than lower like a pair of jeans. The kilt it remarkably warm in the brisk morning and as the sun rises the open bottom breathes really well to keep you cool. I have never worn a kilt before and I think I’m going to start wearing it to go golfing now. Also the kilt goes extremely well with any celtic rock/punk show. I’m actually thrilled with mine and am looking for any excuse to wear mine!

wonderful product, the kilt is perfect for everyday wear and holds pleats even through the wash, go for the sewn down pleats! I can wear this thing all day and still be styling for drinking in pub in the evening.
To be honest i bought the kilt for re-enactment battle but I am constantly looking for reasons to wear it out like an everyday article of clothing, much more comfortable than a pair of pants!

All Ireland Sport Kilt
This is my second kilt from your company. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 on the rating scale is the pockets. I really like the convenience of the pockets as I don’t wear a Sporran. The pockets, however, seem to make the kilt fit quite differently across the front than my other kilt that has no pockets. That is my only comment, other than that I am very happy with the kilt and I wear them all over town (much to the chagrin of my children). I am even trying to get my kids school to change the school mascot to the “Highlanders”. If we can do that then I will be needing several kilts with a blue and white tartan.
