**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

Sport Kilt Hunting!

An exclusive Sport Kilt design, this plaid closely resembles many popular hunting-version tartans. Because it is not an official tartan, we designed this to be worn by anyone.

For obvious reasons, hunting tartan kilts generally consist of more greens and earth tone colors, so as to blend into the surroundings on a hunt.

    This was one of my first Sport Kilts and is probably my favorite. So far I have Hunting, MacGregor, Black Stewart, and Tara/Murphy.

    It fits very well. Just word of advice to others who wear waistcoats etc. I enjoy wearing these to events in the summer (which is quite hot and these lighter kilts do nicely). Do not wear the kilt belt and buckle when you’re wearing an Argyle vest/waistcoat as it adds thickness to your waist. Besides it is hidden anyways by the vest. I was a size 40 R and found myself needing a 44L waistcoat to fit comfortably (added a few pounds over the holidays). I can definitely say that it wouldn’t fit right while wearing the kilt belt.

    Sizing runs small
    My only complaint is the sizing runs small. I made sure I consulted the sizing chart and ordered based on the website recommendation. It’s to small in the waist

    First Kilt, not dissapointed
    I do workouts on the beach, and this kilt os perfect for it! It can withstand the sand and waves with no damage. It is light so I can do burpees and doesn’t get too much heavier when wet, so I can do burpees in the water too! This kilt is perfect for all manner of excercise and casual wear!

    Back for another, Sir!
    This kilt has treated me well. I was surprised at what great quality it was for the price. I paid at LEAST fifty ($50) less than other places and I got what I wanted, how I wanted it. Now, I’m back for a second kilt and thinking that this may be the start of replacing my normal pant-wear.

    Original Sport Kilt- Hunting
    This was my first Sport Kilt and it’s great in almost every way. The material lays very nicely, holds a pleat and looks crisp an clean for a good long time. This plaid will probably be my favorite. I wear this kilt everywhere along with the matching noggin wrap.

    I was very comfortable in my new Sportkilt during the Clam and Lobster Bake, even when camped out in the brisk Colorado Rocky Mountain mornings. I received many compliments on the colors and how well it was made.

    Sport Kilt is Great
    I’ve been a Highland Games Athlete for almost 3 years and was originally lent a Sport Kilt to compete in. I bought another kilt earlier this year from another company because of price, but was not thrilled with how it fit. I had to adjust it many times often after each throw. After visiting the website again, I found the Hunting tartan that worked for me as I am an avid hunter from Western Pennsylvania. Thanks Sport Kilt for the wide selection and great quality of kilts.

    Kilt is catching
    I bought a kilt for myself first. My husband and I are cyclists and change frequently in parking lots. This kilt is awesome! No more bare butts! I loved mine so much, my husband had to have one too. The only downfall was, that I couldn’t get it in my clan tartan. But it has to be way too hard to have everyones tartans available and I realize that.
    I love it, go get one!

    I was very happy with my Sport kilt. Although I initially ordered the wrong size kilt it was replaced within two weeks, even with extras added to it. nice kilt, good price,will continue to have business with this company.

    Sport Kilt GREAT
    I have bought my first two sport kilts with some major differences. Both were off the rack and both were sent soon after ordered. The first was the Original Sports Kilt The first was ordered with POCKETS but without belt loops. I wear a 2 ¼ inch Samm Browne belt with most of my kilts. I had a seamstress add belt loops later. My second was the Works Kilt, but without pockets. Hmm ~ need pockets. I did buy a sporran but it was poorly made and the rivets came apart. I now rear a Belly Pack which works just fine. The kilts were well made and I bought a third Original Kilt for my lady friend’s 13 year old son. He loves it and wears it all the time. ~Pahl in Oregon~
