**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

    Better Than I Expected!
    Just received my Loch Ness Original Sport Kilt I’m always optimistic when I order something online, but this kilt exceeds my expectations. I ordered mine with custom length, belt loops, fringe, sewn-down pleats, and leather side buckles—and I am happy with all of them. The fit is spot-on, the weight of the fabric is perfect, and the pleats are sewn to sett—something I find more aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for a great kilt.

    Practical Kilts
    I have purchased 4 Sport Kilts over the last few years. I wear two of them as an alternative to shorts in hot weather. The kilts have belt loops and stitched down pleats. I get my wife to move one of the belt loops on the right side of the kilt to the right edge of the apron as this makes it easier to use when adjusting the waist size.

    I also purchased a wide black belt and sporran from Sport Kilt. The sporran is on a chain (supplied by Sport Kilt) that allows me to place it on my left hip which works well for driving as it doesn’t interfere with the seat belt. I don’t like pockets in a kilt so I find the sporran indispensible for carrying wallet, phone and keys I typically wear a golf or short sleeved shirt with the kilt.
    I live in Toronto, Canada which is a cosmopolitan city with a diverse population. I wear a kilts just about anywhere I like and nobody bugs me about it. Most people are indifferent and some are quite complimentary.

    Perfect Casual Kilt
    This kilt can survive the hot and humid summers of Missouri just fine, keeping me nice and cool, while shaking off dirt, leaves, and light rain. Held up nice in the pub as well, and I caught the attention of quite a few people walking down the sidewalk. First of many Sport Kilts for me!

    Loved my kilt. Extremely comfortable. I sized myself up wrong but somehow still fit perfectly. It also got me 2nd place at my first Highland games !!!!!

    Nashville is ours (in Kilt form)
    Love this kilt (obvi). However, I’d also like to add that if you are a Nashville Predators or Nashville Soccer Club, get this kilt because it is one of the rare kilts in our city’s team colors. GET IT! Wear it with pride at games!

    WARRIOR KILT
    I bought this kilt to wear in the Warrior Dash (Texas)(www.warriordash.com) and it held up to all expectations.

    Was able to run, slide and climb mudd hills, swim, and crawl through mudd in the kilt and not lose a step.

    Best way to put it would be in the words of Kramer, “IM OUT THERE AND LOVING IT”

    Running Kilt

    Excellent Product, Excellent Service
    This kilt was ordered for my son to wear to prom – and with prom being 10 days away I wasn’t sure we would be able to get it in time. Not only did the kilt arrive earlier than expected, it was an excellent product, very well made and the fit was perfect.
