**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Please note: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please measure carefully!

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closure

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

    I’m very happy with my ninja black kilt, I wore it on a couple of hikes in humid summer weather, and it was super comfy. And when I’m using it as a casual kilt, the plain black colour is unobtrusive and pairs well with anything. I’m 5’6, I wear an L, and had to ask for a shorter length, so I’d recommend reading the FAQs on taking your measurements before ordering.

    I have 2 of these kilts & love them. I wear them year ’round (in west central Texas). In winter, when asked if I’m not cold…my answer is always a puzzled “Why? I’m wearing wool socks & shoes.”
    Anyway, I’ll get another one or two in the near future.
    I”d give this Kilt 7 stars or more, if you offered that option

    Great of the price
    This is my second kilt. My first was a traditional kilt purchased in Edenburgh Scotland.The Sport Kilt has all the bells and whistles with a hidden pocket. I also like the light weight fabric. It’s more comfortable for wearing in summer in Florida. Only negative, the belt loops are in the wrong spots. When I wear a belt it covers the top side buckle. On the other kilt the belt falls between the buckles.

    I already had several kilts! I bought this for my brother and he actually wore it once, but didn’t like all the attention so he gave it back to me.

    disappointed
    Like most people that order online the picture of a product, especially if there are various angles, is crucial in making a decision. They certainly are for me which is why I decided on the Ninja Black Sport Kilt. Unfortunately it does fit as pictured. In the picture the pleats on the left and right are symmetrical/equidistant with the front panel. On the kilt I received there is a noticeable area on the right of the front panel with no pleats, so it looks like an irregular/defective fit. Maybe it’s a little OCD but I was hoping my kilt, that I purchased based on the photos, would fit like it looked in the photos. With summer upon us I’m glad I have other kilts to wear. Things are not always as they appear.

    Can’t wait to wear it!
    I ordered this for my upcoming wedding, much cheaper alternative to “tuxedo” kilts I found and it looks great too. The sewn down pleats and buckles really complete the look.
