Recon 2 Hiking Kilt
We made some significant tweaks to the Recon kilt to bring you the more advanced Recon 2 Hiking Kilt. Based off customer feedback and our own testing, this model comes with a static nylon belt that cam be cinched down tighter. The length was shortened to 22.5″ which we found ideal for most guys. We also added some extra snaps to give the kilt adjustability in and out to better fit various body shapes. One major improvement this model has is using a material that does not have a waterproof coating on the inside. While it isn’t as waterproof as Recon 1 in the rain, it’s much better suited for warmer days and being active.
Designed to take you where other kilts won’t go!
Made with durable ripstop, mesh inner liner that extends 6″ below the waistband, adjustable nylon waistband, four pockets, and pleats around the backside.
Lightweight enough to pack down small, and keep you cool and comfortable on your trek. Unlike our other hiking kilts, this does not use velcro, and has four snaps on the front sides, and an adjustable waistband with nylon buckle.
Featuring four pockets; two side cardo pockets, with zipper pockets on top of them. The two outer cargo pockets measure 6′ wide x 9″ deep, while the inner zipper pockets measure 6″ wide and 7″ deep. Plenty of room to keep even the largest phone or GPS unit, along with all your day-hike essentials.
The exercise kilt is pleated around the backside for mobility, and that Sport Kilt look. Standard length on all sizes is 22.5″. Weight is 1.15 pounds for a size 38.
Featuring an olive drab color in durable poly cotton ripstop. Sport Kilt logo ghost-embossed over the pockets.
available in size 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 , 48

Kevin –
I’ve hiked in a Sportkilt for a few years, and have an old Mountain Hardwear hiking kilt (they don’t make them anymore). I purchased the Recon 2 this spring and I couldn’t be happier! Zippered pockets on each side (for things you don’t need easy access to, like keys) plus cargo velcro pockets is brilliant. Easily manages an iPhone and a snack. It feels more durable than the regular Sportkilt (not that they aren’t durable). It’s my go-to hiking garment, ask me about it next time you see me on the trail…
