See this Video for more sizing and product information.

Belt Loops

Although you don’t need a belt to hold up your kilt, we’ll be glad to add ’em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran “chain-belt” through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

TIP: Belt Loop size should be at least 1/4″ larger than the belt width in order to have room for the belt hardware, e.g., the keeper.

Please note: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please measure carefully!

Pockets ($20)

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Custom Length *

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

Please Note: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Measure carefully, please!

Description

“The Works Kilt”  is our world-famous Sport Kilt with four custom options already included: Belt Loops, Sewn Down Pleats, Fringed front panel edge, and leather buckle strap closures.

The material is the same great Sport Kilt poly-blend (no itch!) fabric with superb “swing” and “drape”. It’s Machine washable, non-wool and holds a crisp pleat well.

Each also features our original velcro closure, and elastic in the waistband for comfort and fit, with just a bit of give. Each includes a inside stash pocket 5×6″ behind the front panel.

Please allow about 3-5 days to add custom features like sewn down pleats, leather buckle straps, etc. to your Works model kilt.  Longer than standard length kilts are made from scratch, and can take up to 2-3 weeks to complete.

Please note: Since this is a custom made garment, generally we cannot accept returns or exchanges, unless we make a mistake. However, we want everybody to be happy with their kilt, so let us know if you have sizing issues once you receive your kilt.  Please measure carefully.  If you need a longer length kilt, or a larger model than what we offer online, feel free to call in your order to 1-800-451-KILT.

Light wight kilt ideal for summer
Prince Edward of UK was here in South Carolina in June 2010 for the Highland Games. He said he could not believe people wore such heavy kilts in such hot weather.
I didn’t – my sport kilt was light weight and even in the upper 80s it was not a problem. I’m glad it was not wool.
The only problem the pocket is not useful at all.

  2. Taryn Myers

    Length issues
I purchased a mini kilt and the plus size measurement did not seem to allow for a little extra length in the back of the kilt to accomodate anyone with “butt”…as a result, the back end is considerably higher and too short for me to wear. Actually, I have a normal size rear end, not overly large, so I was surprised at the difference in how it fit. We were thrilled with everything else, but I am disappointed I cannot wear my kilt….

    Teen Embraces Heritage
This kilt was the perfect answer for our teen who wanted to embrace his heritage. Great fit and hangs well on our tall, thin 16 year-old. Excellent value.

I’m Scottish and this isn’t crap
It took me a while to warm up to non-traditional materials but one has expanded since moving to the States and I couldn’t get one made quick enough,or for remotely close to this price.Cheap or canny only your Wife can tell:)

This sat really well, hit the right knee length and really does have great movement/swish.Had to remove the badge it’s just out of place when trying to pull off formally and would hope that’s an option I missed. (Thankfully a really nice Sgian Dubh made short work of that) The two leather buckles to the side do not look that secure in stitching but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s just the appearance.

I’m really happy for what I paid and received and in a general audience it acquitted itself beautifully.

Ordered from the company twice and received a speedy delivery in both cases.
