**Men's Medium Waist Tip: If you are taller than 5'9", you want to get the Medium-Long size.  If you are 5'9" or shorter, the Medium will be fine.

Sewn-Down Pleats

All Sport Kilts are pleated, but you can give your kilt that custom fitted shape with a leaner profile by having us sew down the pleats.

The first 4-5 inches of pleats (measured from the waistband) are sewn down along the knife edge of the pleat (vertically). This provides a more refined look and makes for easier care and pressing.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept returns for customized goods, i.e., belt loops, sewn pleats, custom length. Please make sure of your measurements!

Buckle Closures

You can add two 1" wide black leather straps and nickle-plated buckles to the opening end of your Sport Kilt. A functional, traditional looking adjustable double strap.  You can also choose a Nylon Buckle Strap option as well. 

While all Sport Kilts are secured with Velcro at the waistband, you can give your kilt that custom look (and added security) by adding buckles and straps.

Also note: If you opt for the Buckles and straps, we HIGHLY recommend adding the sewn-down-pleats option as they compliment each other.

Belt Loops

Although you don't need a belt to hold up your kilt, we'll be glad to add 'em so you can wear your favorite belt.

Belt loops can also be used to thread your sporran "chain-belt" through. This is the traditional use of belt loops on a kilt.

Pockets

Now you can have us add 2 hidden side pockets to your Sport Kilt. You won’t even know they’re there unless you’re looking for them, or you’ve got your hands in your pockets.

A great custom option for those that have to have pockets on their kilts!

Please allow us a couple of days to customize your kilt with pockets before your order ships.

Fringe

Now you can have the opening side of your Sport Kilt fringed for extra flair!

Custom Length

Use a measuring tape, instead of using your pant size. This will determine your waist measurement.

The ideal kilt length: While kneeling, measure from the top of your waist (where you'd wear your kilt) to the floor. Some say your kilt should just brush against the ground when you are kneeling. Of course personal preference is the rule! Have it YOUR way.

Note:  Ultimate and Commando kilts tend to sit higher on the waist (more like a traditional kilt) than our standrard Sport Kilts. Therefore, you may want to add an extra inch or two in length to compensate. If in doubt, be assured that ninety five percent of the time, our standard size Medium-long, large, XL, abd XXL length of 22.5 inches will fit most guys 5' 10" and 6' 2" tall.

    My first, but not my last Kilt!
    Seen other guys wear them out at races and sometimes to festivals, but never had a chance to buy one. Along comes a sweet offer in my email from Sport Kilt and I had extra in the budget so it had to happen. Was very skeptical about going out the first time with it on. Wore it around the house a few times and then home from the gym a few times and was hooked. It has been worn to a wedding, a triathlon (post), an Open Water Swim (post), and last but not least to the vets to get our puppy spayed…….. Betcha didn’t see that last one coming did ya. Love wearing it every time I get the chance now and love the response from friend and strangers that they think the kilt rocks!!!!!!

    Really good kilt for pub crawling, light, doesn’t chafe. I also had an issue with sizing, SK was quick to help with sizing and with the return. Pretty painless.

    The website is very easy to use. The explanations of the different additions to order the kilt was informative and clear. I have not received the kilt yet (I just ordered it yesterday, though) but I’m sure the quality will be as good as the my experience so far.

    I did notice that there was a place to enter a promotional code, but I was never able to find one. Maybe I didn’t look in the right place.

    It would be nice, too, if you offered kilt packages.

    Overall, neither of the above have a negative impact on my experience and will be making further purchases in the future.

    I purchased a comfy kilt and an original sport kilt and I am happy with them both I like the pockets, belt loops, and the way it holds the pleat. You have a good product, the price is a little high, but I am happy to pay it for a quality product.
