Description
This is a Celtic Brooch, with the Penannular (incomplete ring) style closure system. Made from Wrought Iron, this stylish antique looking brooch is sturdy, and easy to fasten one or two sections of material together, as is common on the Great Kilt.
approximately 3 1/2″ in diameter, with rotating pin to keep tartan fabric in place. Used mainly on the Great Kilt, but has other uses to attach fly plaids and sashes. Also called a “Viking Pin” or “Stay”, these are centuries-old styles of adjusting clothing to fit one’s body.
